KÂLANEMI

Hindu Demon

Another Demon Uncle of Ravana

He tried to destroy Hanuman by disguising himself as a hermit. After inviting him to a meal Hanuman was warned by a crocodile (who was really a nymph).

The tale ends with a flick of Hanuman’s tail which hurled the demon so high he bounced off the underside of Heaven and splattered when he hit Earth.
