MURUGAN

Hindu War God

Also known as Murukan

Tamil God of Youth and War

He is the Tamil version of Kârttikeya — not that there is much difference between them.

Like Kârttikeya he rides a peacock — or sometimes an elephant — with a spear and a garland of flowers. He is one of the original trendsetters for these fashion accessories.

It must be the impetuosity of youth.
