DANU

Irish Mother Goddess

Also known as Ana, Anu, Dana, Danann

Celtic Goddess of Wind, Wisdom and Fertility

More importantly, she’s believed to be the Irish Mother Goddess who brought into being the Tuatha Dé Danann, her own chosen people who originally ruled Ireland.

As a Mother Goddess, she’s renowned for suckling Godlets. There are still two hills in County Kerry still known as the ‘Paps of Danu’.

You may have heard of Danny Boy, but she is the original Danu girl. She’s also the mother and daughter of Dagda, which is quite a neat trick.
